About Gavin

Dedicated to Suicide Prevention

Gavin’s Hugs is a nonprofit dedicated to suicide prevention, offering a simple way for students to reach out for help. Our mission is to provide middle and high school students with a tangible way to reach out for help, even when they do not have the words to ask.

Gavin’s Hugs

Gavin’s Hugs are small tokens given to each student who comes to a presentation or asks for one. When a student needs help, with or without thoughts of suicide, they can hand it to an adult within their school and be connected with their “safe person.” Click below to learn more about Gavin’s Hugs and how we are different from other programs you may have heard about.

For Administration

Before speaking to students, we meet with the faculty and staff at the middle/high school. This ensures all staff are aware of the program.

For Students

Students are given a token, Gavin’s Hug, to keep with them at all times. When they need help, they only need to hand it to a trusted adult.

For Parents

Students may utilize a Gavin’s Hug to start a conversation with their parent, opening the door to help the parent may not have even known was needed.

Empower Your School Community

Invite Gavin’s Hugs to your school for a compassionate, impactful program on suicide prevention and mental health.

Please speak up; Stay

You Are Not Alone

So many youth feel their thoughts are not normal, and asking for help equates to weakness. Gavin’s Hugs gives teens the ability to reach out without the additional attention and connects them with the help they need.
